The Live Well and Move Vision:

Live Well and Move is dedicated to helping you Achieve Your Optimal Wellness.  I started my journey in 2019.  I felt tired, weak, overweight, unhealthy and unmotivated.  I knew that if I didn't change things soon, I'd be that guy, sitting on the couch while his kids were outside having fun, and missing out on all that life has to offer.

I made a change in my life for the better, and I want to share what I've learned with you.  No matter where you are in your health and fitness journey, there is always room to move forward and achieve your optimal wellness.  If you have pain, stress, weakness, injuries, or are simply curious about what you can do to improve yourself, this is the place!

My name is Curtiss Young.  I've been a physical therapist in Arizona since 2007.  I specialize in identifying and treating movement dysfunction and have integrated Functional Medicine to my programs.  I started my "functional" training in 2009 with Functional Movement System's FMS, then later the SFMA.  These both look into patterns of dysfunctional movement, and how that affects the whole body.  It was only natural that I take the same approach to look at a person's health and wellness the same way.  Functional Medicine "is an individualized, patient-centered, science-based approach that empowers patients and practitioners to work together to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness."  With these tools in my pocket, I can empower you to move from where you are in your personal fitness, health and wellness journey, toward your optimal wellness.

ABOUT ME

I graduated in 2007 from UTSW Medical Center at Dallas, then moved with my wife to Gilbert, AZ and started my Physical Therapy journey.  I've worked all across the valley, with a focus on out-patient, orthopedic and neuro-musculo-skeletal conditions, and in 2019 completed a 12-week course that integrates Functional Medicine.

When I'm not spending time with you, my most valued client, I enjoy time with my wife, Lindsey, and our two kids Brody and Charlotte.  I enjoy Crossfit, play guitar, and do my best to teach everyone around me as much as they're willing to learn!
